A boline is not primarily a ritual tool but a practical tool, traditionally used for harvesting and preparing herbs for culinary and/or magical use.

Our boline has been chosen with this in mind - it is good quality and completely functional tool, hand-crafted in Pakistan where skilled knife-makers prepared and able to make non-standard designs still abound.

(Whilst we would in principle prefer to avoid the air-miles associated with imports we have not yet found it possible to source bolines of an acceptable standard economically in this country though we are still trying!)

The traditional crescent shaped blade is polished stainless steel, serrated on the inner edge (for harvesting) and with a sharpened outer mezzaluna cutting edge. The haft, traditionally light-coloured in a boline, is of bone. A leather sheath which has a loop for suspending from a belt is included in the price.

NOTE: This ritual boline is not a merely decorative piece - the blade is sharp. We require confirmation that you are over 18 before supplying this item.

Please note that in the UK it is an offence for any person under the age of 16 years to purchase most kinds of knives. This includes bolines. As a responsible retailer we shall only supply bolines to customers over the age of 18 years. By placing an order on our website the customer confirms that he or she is over the age of 18 years. We reserve the right to refuse a sale if we have reasonable cause to believe that the prospective customer is below the age of 18 years, or if we believe that the supply of goods to the prospective customer may infringe the Laws of England or present an unacceptable potential risk to the safety of others.

Safety Considerations
You should also be aware that under current UK law it may be an offence to carry a bladed or sharply pointed instrument in a public place if you cannot show good reason for doing so e.g. essential for work.

Use your boline with due care and attention, as you would with any other tool, and never use them for a purpose for which it is not intended nor specifically designed.

Never threaten anybody with a boline (even as a joke), as this is a serious Criminal Offence. And never leave your boline where it may be accessible to a child, and keep them stored securely: preferably in the sheath supplied.
